It may be autumn downunder, but Amway’s spring cleanout of Diamonds continues. Last week a source told me that qualifiers for Amway Australia & New Zealand’s Emerald Plus cruise of the Mediterranean were asked to sign statutory declarations that neither they, nor their spouses, nor children, were to join any other MLM companies.

BADDI: Amway India Pvt. Ltd. has announced its foray into the mass market segment, with the recent launch of “Great Value Product Range” which include coconut oil, shaving cream, hair cream and disposable razors.

“We hope to capture three to four per cent of the market share in this segment of FMCGS,” Bill Pinckney, MD and CEO, Amway India, told reporters here.

The company was also mulling launching more products, at least three to four, in this category, he said.

In 1999 the Alticor Corporation launched a new business model to replace the old Amway model. This company was called Quixtar and was said to have been launched to coincide with taking this business online. But it had widely reported and speculated at the time it was done in an effort to curb the stigma associated with the Amway brand.

While there were some nice changes and product additions to the Quixtar model, it was still the same business plan, but worse yet, the same business leaders in the Amway Motivational Organizations.

Inc. today announced fiscal 2007 sales of $1.072 billion, the fifth
consecutive year in which the company surpassed the billion-dollar
mark. The results represented a slight decline from the previous year’s
sales of $1.12 billion, which were the best in Quixtar’s nine-year

Results were affected minimally by actions the company took to
terminate the business of a few Independent Business Owners in August
of 2007 after they refused to change unacceptable practices.

Quixtar Independent Business Owners (IBOs) earned $363 million in
bonuses and other incentives for their business efforts in 2007, which
also included $70.1 million in sales at Quixtar’s Partner Stores.

In 2007, Quixtar launched a new line of nutritional snacks, juices

as well as the new ARTISTRY(R) essentials line of skin care and
